Just Add is a meal app for people who are done being tracked, so the shortest honest version is this: we keep what we need to answer your question and remember your preferences, and nothing else. Your photos are never stored. Your voice never leaves your phone.

Who we are

Just Add is made by NANO-SOFT TECHNOLOGY SRL, which is the data controller for everything described here. For anything about your data, email hello@justadd.app and a person reads it.

What we collect

• What you tell us about food. The sentence you type or say about a meal, the plates you were given, the ones you kept, and the foods you told us you love or would rather skip. This is what makes a suggestion yours rather than generic.
• Your allergens and dietary pattern. Held so they can be filtered out before a suggestion is ever written, and checked again before it reaches you.
• Your email address and an account id, through our authentication provider.
• Whether you have a subscription, through the App Store and our payments provider. We never see your card.

What we do not collect

• Nothing about your body. No weight, no measurements, no goals, no calories, no macros. There is no field for any of it, which is why we cannot lose it.
• Photos of your food are never saved. When you photograph a meal, the image is sent to be read, the foods in it are written down, and the image is discarded. There is no bucket and no disk. It is never stored, never used for training, and cannot be recovered — by you or by us.
• Your voice never leaves your phone. Speech is turned into text by iOS on the device itself. Only the resulting text is sent. No audio is recorded, transmitted or kept.
• Nothing in the app advertises to you or profiles you. No ad networks, no data brokers, and nothing that follows you between apps. The app itself carries no analytics at all.

This website, which is not the app

The page you are reading counts visits; the app it is advertising does not. Nothing described below runs inside Just Add, and none of it ever sees a meal, a photo or an allergen — those exist only in the app, under the rules above.

• Plausible — how many people came to the site and which page they landed on. No cookies, no identifier, nothing stored on your device, and no way to single anybody out: it produces counts, not records. Hosted in the EU. There is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing here that needs consenting to.
• X’s advertising tag, when a campaign is running. It reports back to X that somebody who saw an advert reached the site. That one is a third party learning something about your visit, which is the honest description of what an ad pixel is, and it is the reason this section does not simply say “no tracking”. Browser-level tracking protection blocks it, and so does any content blocker.

Where it goes, and who else sees it

Four companies handle data on our behalf. Each is bound by contract to protect it to at least the standard described in this policy, and none of them may use it for their own purposes. They are the app’s; the website’s two are named in the section above.

• OpenAI — the meal you describe, and the bytes of a photo if you send one, are passed to a language model to produce your answer. Sent under an agreement that the content is not used to train their models. This is the one third party that sees what you are eating, and the app asks you before it sends anything the first time.
• Clerk — signing in. They hold your email address and account identifier.
• RevenueCat — whether your subscription is active. No payment details; the App Store handles those and we never receive them.
• DigitalOcean — where the database and servers run, in Frankfurt.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

Your meals and preferences are kept while your account exists, because they are what the app remembers about you.

You can delete your account from inside the app — Settings, then Delete account. It removes the account and everything attached to it: your profile, your allergens, every plate you were given, your saved meals, your shopping lists, and any share links you created, which stop working immediately. It is immediate and it cannot be undone. You do not have to email anyone.

Safety records are kept in anonymised form, with no link back to you. They are what let us check that the app is behaving, and they cannot be traced to a person.

If you signed in with Apple

Deleting your account removes everything on our side. Apple also keeps its own record that you once used Sign in with Apple here, which only you can clear: Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → Just Add → Stop Using Apple ID.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, because Apple owns that billing relationship and we cannot reach into it. Cancel at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions before deleting, or you may keep being charged for something you can no longer use.

Children

Just Add is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Deleting your account does the last one immediately and completely. For the others, or for anything else about this policy, email hello@justadd.app.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will say so in the app rather than quietly changing the date at the top.
